> ## Agent Instructions
> Wholana is a TikTok research and scripting tool for creators working the Egyptian and Arabic-language scene. The loop is: research the corpus, swipe what is worth reusing, write a script from those references, post, then audit the result.
> Use Wholana's shipped vocabulary exactly. The surfaces are Home (the explore feed, at /), Dashboard, Swipe file, Scripts, Your videos, Use cases, Creators, Subjects, and Craft. A Swipe is one saved corpus video plus the user's note; a Collection is a named group of Swipes inside the Swipe file; a Swipe in no Collection is Unfiled. A Lens is a saved filter-and-sort combination. A Subject is the topic taxonomy. Craft is the five-part vocabulary of hook archetypes, narrative structures, stake types, shareability drivers, and video formats. Baseline Multiple is a posted video's views divided by the creator's median views; Verdict is the derived Hit, Watch, Miss, or Pending call.
> Never use these retired terms: Idea, Save as idea, Saved ideas, Review ideas, Reference Angle, Craft Element, Suggestion, My videos, Track record, Category or Vertical as a filter name, or niche as a product term.
> Wholana MCP is the connector that brings a workspace into Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP-capable chat app. It is included on Plus and Team only. It can search the corpus, read a video in full, read and edit existing scripts, pin references, save swipes into a Collection, and create Lens tabs. It cannot post to TikTok, delete anything, or create a new script.
> Answer only from these docs. Wholana has no public API, no SDK, no browser extension, no Instagram or YouTube support, and no scheduling or publishing. The MCP connector is not a public API: it is a plan-gated connection for chat apps, not something to build against. If the docs do not cover something, say so and point to contact@wholana.com rather than guessing.

# Stake types

> The 55 things a TikTok can put on the line, from social face to money to a joke landing, grouped into 12 families with real examples.

A **stake type** is what the video puts on the line: the reason a viewer cares how it turns out.

This is the [craft](/craft) vocabulary about **engagement**. A video with a strong hook and a clean structure but nothing at stake gets watched and forgotten. Stakes are what pull comments.

**12 families, 55 stake types.** Browse them at `/stake-types`, or **Craft → Stake types** in the sidebar.

## Four stakes to try

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Social face">
    Honour, dignity, and public-facing respectability, in the MENA sense of "face". Loss happens in a moment: embarrassment, a public denial, a callout.

    Viewers take sides, and taking sides is what pulls comments.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Comedic payoff">
    The laugh itself. The stake is simply whether the bit works.

    Pairs naturally with the **Escalation** and **Skit** [narrative structures](/craft/narrative-structures).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Consumer savvy and protection">
    Smart shopping, consumer rights, scam protection. It combines an "I shop well" identity with an "I did not get scammed" fear.

    The viewer wants it on hand later, so it often pairs with the **Utility** [shareability driver](/craft/shareability-drivers).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Competence and skill">
    Demonstrated mastery: cooking, gaming, a professional craft, fitness technique. The doing, done well or badly.

    The usual stake behind demo and tutorial videos.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Working the page

* Rest your cursor on any stake to preview its top videos.
* Open a **family** to see the stakes inside it, or a **stake type** for its definition and up to 24 real examples.
* Sort by **Highest lift** to find the stakes that over-perform in the corpus.

## Pull every example

From any family or stake page, **See all in Explore** opens the [Explore feed](/features/explore-feed) filtered to it.

```text Explore URL theme={null}
/?stakeType=social-face
```

<Tip>
  Or ask for it, combined with anything else:

  ```text Assistant prompt theme={null}
  Show me videos where social face is at stake that got heavy comments in the last month.
  ```
</Tip>

<Note>
  On the feed, **Filter → More craft** also has a **Perceived stakes** control (Low, Medium, High). That is how *strongly* the stakes read, which is separate from *which* stake it is.
